Under the Storeroom Floor

A hole needs to be dug in the storeroom floor and under the storeroom wall to enable the new power supply cable to enter the building. Steve Baber has lifted some floor boards in the storeroom and started to dig down into the old floor surface to get down to the level the power cable will enter the room from a trench that will be dug outside the building.

Asbestos Survey

Before conservation work can start on the Hall an intrusive asbestos survey has to be carried out. Today AMS 2000 Ltd from Barnstaple carried out the survey. We await their report.

Lime Plastering Wall in Storeroom

Friday 11th September Richard Boxall continues to plaster the wall in the storeroom. Lime plaster requires several layers building up slowly with each layer drying before the next layer is applied. The wall need three layers

Work Starts Preparing Storeroom Wall

Saturday 5th September Richard Boxall and Steve Baber started working on the wall in the storeroom. This work is needed to prepare the wall in readiness for the new location of the rerouted power supply, electric meter and consumer unit. The wall need plastering with lime plaster.

Heritage Group August Meeting

East Worlington Heritage Group held their monthly meeting last evening. It provided a great opportunity to update each other about recent developments with the Heritage Project and talk about aspects of local heritage interest.
