Trustees Meeting 08.01.15

The Parish Hall Trustees / Management Committee their bi-monthly meeting this evening in the Parish Hall. The following items relevant to the Heritage Project were on their agenda:

• Business Plan 2014 – 2018 – Financial targets
•  Heating Project Progress Report
• Heritage Lottery Plan
•  Heritage Lottery Evaluation
•  Heritage Project Launch and Publicity  
• Digital Output Plan 

The Trustees were very pleased with the funding support from Heritage Lottery and our other partnership funders and that progress is being made with the project.

Parish Hall Heating

Timeleon have provided a heating project design with estimate of costs. The will be discussed by Richard, Miya, Martin and Steve at their project team meeting on Friday

Heritage Project and School Engagement

Steve met Suzie Pinn (Senior Teacher at East Worlington Primary School) today to start planning the implementation of the school element of the Heritage Project. It was a constructive meeting and a staged  implementation plan was agreed. The school and community members will work together to support the school-focussed activities of the project. The next steps will be for Suzie and community project volunteers and plan the detail. The main topics the school will be involved with are:

• Living Memories
• Treasure Trove - History of East Worlington through Artefacts
• Using Maps, Documents and Field Research to Better Understand the Natural Environment’s Impact on People and People’s Impact on the Natural Environment.
• Houses –Different Types of Houses
• Life in Worlington through the Eyes of People Living in the Past
• Visualising Our Community - Artistic Representations of East Worlington at Different Times through History
• Recipe Book
• History of East Worlington School

Parish Hall Heating

Timeleon provided a Detail and Technical report with heatloss calculation today. This will assist us to make informed decision about our final heating solution for the Hall. The report will be discussed by Miya, Richard, Martin and Steve on Friday as part of the project planning agenda.

Parish Hall Website Development

Martin and Steve met today and with support from information offered by Miya discussed the look and feel of the Parish Hall website and the Project Blog. The meeting was productive and some good and constructive thinking led to creative ideas about the look and feel. An action plan to progress this work was agreed and the next steps Martin to seek estimates from three short-listed web-designers.

Parish Hall Heating

Miya, Richard and Steve met today to discuss the progress plan for the Parish Hall heating. We have an options appraisal report from EDP (Mechanical and Electrical Engineers). We agreed Steve to contact Timeleon (underfloor heating company) and clarify the services they offer and the extent to which they can offer a design solution for the heating.

Miya, Richard and Steve agreed to meet again on Friday 9th January to review progress. Martin (project finance officer) will join us. The intention is to agree an action plan and time-line.

Heritage Lottery Letter

Received a letter from Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) today. Brilliant news. HLF are offering their support for our Heritage project. More updates in the weeks to come.
