In readiness for the builder starting on the kitchen refurbishment project on 3rd January community volunteers have been busy preparing the kitchen.
On Wednesday 20th December a team of community volunteers were at the Hall to move and store all the crockery, cutlery and kitchen equipment.
On Wednesday 20th December Dart Electrics (electrician) and Martin Greenslade (plumber) were on site to isolate the kitchen's electrics and the plumbing. This enable all the old units to be moved.
On Thursday 21st December a team of community volunteers were at the Hall and removed all the old units.
The kitchen is now clear and ready for the builder.

Celebrating
a Century as a Parish Hall
Before
the current layout of the kitchen in the Hall the plan of 1966 shows there was
a kitchen accessed through one door at one end of the stage and a room labelled
Cloaks accessed through door at the other end of the stage. The plan shows the
kitchen and cloaks as two separate rooms.

Kitchen Refurbishment - Meeting With The Builder
On Monday 11th December we held a meeting with the builder who is contracted to work on the kitchen refurbishment to finalise plans and agree start dates. The project will start on 3rd January 2018. The main builder is Steven Leach Building Services Ltd., the electrician is Dart Electrics and the plumber is Marting Greenslade.

Polling
Station
The Hall has a regular use as a Polling Station. On 5th
June 1975 it was used in the EEC Membership Referendum. The photograph shows a
resident of the parish arriving outside the Hall to cast a vote.
