Miya
Bond, Honorary Treasurer, Richard Boxall, Project Manager, and Steve Baber, Chair
of Trustees and Project Lead, met on Monday 21 December for a project finance and
planning meeting. The meeting reviewed progress to-date, compared project
budget to project estimates, considered fund-raising strategies and clarified
the elements of the project that will be undertaken in the next phase of works
starting in January 2016. During the first phase of the project there have been
extra costs that have had an impact on the contingency. Further additional
costs have been calculated for the next phase of the work to meet building
regulations requirements, fire protection requirements and guidance from OFTEC. Also the repair to the crack in the south
wall and the repair to the wooden window sills will be included.

Christmas at the Hall
Richard Slee completed his work on the floor in late November. His last job was to screed over the underfloor heating pipes. It was then necessary to leave the floor for some weeks for the screed to dry. Richard will return in January 2016. This provided an opportunity for the Hall to be used for community events during the Christmas period. The different events included Turning on the Christmas Tree Lights, the December Brunch with a Christmas Theme, a Community Party Evening as the Hall turned into the Laughing Cockerel, and East Worlington Primary School using the Hall for their Christmas Nativity play, a Christmas party and a Christmas prize draw event.
